The Lüneburger Heide National Park is one of the oldest in Germany. Its heather clad moorland was cultivated in the Middle Ages. Today 75 different species of heather and further thousands
different wildflowers have been identified in the park.
You may be a seasonal explorer or you may like guided trips through the beauty of the heather. There is a new system of hiking, biking and riding trails in the area of the National Park. Guided tours
are available from tourist information Schneverdingen from May through October each day except weekend. Either way, there is much to see and discover in the Lüneburger Heide National Park.
In the the Alfred Töpfer Academie you learn all about saving the nature. Guided tours twice a week inform you about this complex task.
